TO HELP BEAT THE HEAT AND STRESS OF SUMMER, WE ARE PUTTING OUR SUMMER STAFF UP FOR ADOPTION!
Summers spent serving at Lake Ellen Camp have proven to be an incredibly transforming and life-changing experience for many. We’ve found that some of the most powerful ministry here at camp happens among our summer staff.
Staff attitudes, stamina and overall morale is better when they receive love and encouragement from people who care! You can choose to adopt a specific staffer or ask us to pick one for you.
When you adopt a camp staffer you will receive an adoption form with their name and picture along with information about them and their specific job at camp. We’ll also give them your name and contact information, so they can keep in touch with you over the course of the summer with updates.
What to do if I adopt Someone?
PRAY: God hears your prayers and attends to them on behalf of your adopted staff member. We ask that you commit to pray daily for your adopted staff member.
ENCOURAGE: As staff become tired they will certainly be encouraged by emails, letters and care packages! So we ask that you send some form of encouragement to your adopted staff member this summer. Care package ideas: drinks, candy, chips, cookies, bug spray, sunscreen, flash light, glow sticks, gift cards, books, games, etc.
COMMUNICATE: We want you to hear firsthand from your adopted staff member about how their summer is going, what God is doing in their lives, and what they are learning. So ask them questions.
GIVE FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Adopting a staff member also assists camp in providing a salary for our summer staff. Most of our staff come for 8 weeks in the summer. Depending on their position, camp pays them between $85 and $160 per week. When you give financially to your adopted staff member the camp will pay their salary out of that money. Then any additional funds up to $500 per week will also be given to them. Any more than $500 per week will be put into the summer staff missions fund to help pay other summer staff salaries. This will benefit both the camp and the summer staff.
