A Typical Day at Lake Ellen Camp
While each camp week will vary according to the age of the camper, here's a look at a typical day at camp:
Rise and shine at 7:00 AM and head to the flag raising with your cabin. Next, it's off to the Dining Hall for a delicious breakfast to get fueled up for the day. Next is cabin cleanup - cleanest cabin wins a prize! After that, learn something new in one of our specialized activity classes like swimming, survival skills, drama, crafting, and more. Then it is BLT (Bible Lesson Time), where we explore God's word hands-on. After diving into God's word, we open up quiet time for the campers to have solo time with God. Prepare to have fun, because next we head to group games before lunch. Fuel up again with yummy food made from scratch. Nap or not. Then free time begins! Choose between:
- Kayaking, paddle boats, and canoeing*
- Rope Swing*
- Carpet ball
- Canteen/shirt shop
- Craft shack
- Slip and Slide
- Pontoon Boat Ride
- Trail rides (age 10 and up)
- BB Guns (Trailblazer week and older)
- Climbing Wall (Jr. High week and older)
- *Requires passing a swim test.
After free time, comes a delicious homemade dinner accompanied by dessert. Following dinner is chapel, where the campers will dive deep into a lesson about God's Word from our speaker of the week. To finish up the day, campers participate in an evening activity. Activities range from capture the flag, to game night in our Rec Room, or an exciting game of hide and seek. Then it's time to head back to the cabins for devotionals and bed time. Overall, a typical day at camp will be filled with loads of fun, friendship, learning, and growing in God's Word!
